Historic Wheels Club's classic car show a success at Brodie Castle
VISITORS flocked to Brodie Castle on Sunday, August 13, to view a selection of classic cars on show from collectors across the country.
There was a range of nearly 300 unique cars and motorbikes on display from over the past 125 years at the rally, which was run by the Historic Wheels Club.
The Historic Wheels Club celebrated the 47th edition of the rally this year and continue to give the profits of the rallies to local charities.
The club gives collectors and enthusiasts the chance to gather and share their passion for classic cars and spreads interest in the activity to others.
One of the vehicles at the show was a green 1958 Austin Westminster A95, owned by Maurice Raffan from Elgin.
He collects both vintage cars and tractors and has managed to keep as much of this car's original parts as possible due to its high quality.
The 1950s smoothie wheels on the car have never been replaced and the interior has all of the same features as when it was first bought.
Another Elgin local who brought a vehicle along to the show was Gary Davidson, whose father, Michael, bought his blue 1969 Ford Cortina 1600 GT from new.
Gary is now the owner of the car but still attends many car rallies with his father alongside him.
The club celebrated the 100th anniversary of MG and 75th anniversary of Land Rover by awarding special awards to the entrants presenting the companies’ vehicles.
The Historic Wheels Club holds meetings on the second Thursday of each month as well as days out and car-related meet-ups throughout the year.
