A96 Elgin road closure after water main bursts





A part of the A96 in Elgin is closed due to ongoing work to repair a burst water main.

The road is shut westbound - heading towards Forres - between the roundabout beside the post office’s sorting office and the roundabout at Dr Gray’s Hospital.

The main burst on Wednesday evening, with footage seen by The Northern Scot showing water spraying high into the air. This affected the water supply to nearby homes.

Traffic lights were originally in place, but the road has now been closed westbound while repairs are completed.
